Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with new Danish Ambassador

On Wednesday, August 8th, 2018, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Romania, Mr. Teodor Meleşcanu, received Mr. Søren Jensen, Designated Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Romania, to present the copies of his accreditation letters.


The Romanian official addressed welcome wishes, as well as wishes of success in the activity that the Danish Ambassador would undertake in Romania and ensured him of the Ministry’s entire support to fulfil his mission.

The meeting addressed aspects regarding the current state and perspectives of bilateral relations, with a focus on the importance of the political dialogue on all levels, meant to support the development of economic exchanges and the cooperation between Romania and the Kingdom of Denmark, including within the EU and NATO. In this context, the two interlocutors underlined the likeliness of stances adopted by Romania and the Kingdom of Denmark on a series of topics on the security agenda, as well as the desire of both parties to consolidate their strategic dialogue. Mr. Jensen expressed the continued interest in a number of current themes in Romania, including issues relating to judicial reform.
